Associate Professor in “Community Health with emphasis on Mental Health Promotion in the School Environment”

SUMMARY OF ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

Evanthia Sakellari has completed her postgraduate studies in Finland, at the University of Kuopio (MSc) and the University of Turku (PhD). Evanthia Sakellari has worked in community mental health and public health settings. She has a rich educational experience in undergraduate and postgraduate programs using different pedagogical methods, both in Greece and abroad.

Evanthia Sakellari is a member of the Laboratory of Hygiene and Epidemiology and has the Scientific Responsibility of the Special Academic Unit of Health Promotion. Her main research interests include the design, implementation and evaluation of integrated (mental) health promotion interventions aimed at improving the health of different population groups with the ultimate goal of reducing health inequalities. She has considerable research experience and is the scientific leader of Erasmus+ projects. She works closely with the Ministry of Health to develop and evaluate health education interventions. She is the author of articles in peer-reviewed international journals and book chapters and has presented her work at national and international conferences and other scientific events.
