SUMMARY OF ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

Professor. Ms. Konstantina Skanavi graduated from the School of Public Health, University of Los Angeles, California, USA. In 2019, she moved to the Department of Public and Community Health at the University of West Attica, where she holds the rank of Professor in the field of Environmental Education, Education and Communication.
She was appointed as the first Dean of the newly established School of Public Health at the University of West Attica.
From 2000-2019, she served as Director of the Laboratory of Environmental Education, Education and Communication at the University of the Aegean, where she served as Professor of the Department of Environment.
From 1988-2000, she was a Professor at Los Angeles State University, California, USA, where she worked in the fields of Environmental Communication, Environmental Health and Health Education. She has designed and offered university courses in the fields of Environmental Health, Education and Communication and Health Promotion both in the US and in Greece.
Professor Konstantina Skanavi is the author of multiple articles, chapters and books internationally and has presented her work in hundreds of lectures and talks in many different countries. Her research interests include the promotion of Responsible Environmental Behaviour and Health Promotion as well as the active participation of citizens in environmental and public health decision making through strategic communications. She is involved in both formal, non-formal and informal forms of education with the aim of reaching all social groups.
