Quality Assurance

Mission

The mission of the Programme is to provide postgraduate education of high quality skills and to provide students with knowledge on current developments and approaches to health promotion and education of people with ASD, as well as to develop interdisciplinary approaches and actions related to this population.

Aim

The aim of the Programme is to provide excellent training for professionals of different disciplines in ASD, which will lead to a postgraduate degree in the field of study: “Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD): Health Promotion, Early Intervention, Special Education, Individual and Community Intervention”, with two specialisations:

 

Specialisation 1: Interventions in special education
Specialisation 2: Interventions in clinical practice: individual and community intervention

Quality Policy Statement

The Programme applies the Quality Policy Statement of the supervising Department of Public and Community Health, as it applies to all its Postgraduate Studies Programmes (Act 17/21-09-2023 of the Department Assembly).

 

The main pillars of this Quality Policy Statement are the following:

 

  1. Continuous upgrading of the overall academic work of the Postgraduate Studies Programme
  2. Improvement of their educational work and learning outcomes
  3. Continuous modernisation of the curricula
  4. Support and further development of their research activities
  5. Efficient organisational and administrative functioning of their services
  6. Increase the degree of achievement of their visionary objectives through an educational and administrative scientific methodological framework of standardised procedures and actions

Quality Target Setting

In the context of its activities, the Programme develops a regular Quality Target Setting with the aim of continuously upgrading its services. The current Target Setting includes:

 

  • 5 Strategic Objectives
  • 10 Quality Objectives
  • 21 Specific Indicators
  • 37 Proposed Actions

 

The 5 Strategic Objectives of the Quality Target Setting of the Programme relate to:

 

  • Continuous upgrading of the core academic activities of the Programme
  • Strengthening and promoting research activity, innovation and excellence in research
  • Improving the interface with society and the labour market
  • Strengthening internationalisation and extroversion
  • Upgrading the university environment – Improving infrastructure and human resources development

Internal Evaluation Team

In order to ensure the quality of the services provided, the Programme establishes and coordinates an Internal Evaluation Team (IET), as follows:

  3. Sakellari Evanthia, Associate Professor

 

The IET shall participate in the Programme’s evaluation procedures as described below in “Internal & External Evaluation”.

Internal & External Evaluation

In the context of its activities and in order to ensure the quality of its services, the Programme  is subject to a continuous and regular evaluation conducted in 3 different levels:

 

  • Semester evaluation of the lecturers and the Programme itself by the students at the end of each academic semester
  • Annual internal evaluation of the Programme and its academic unit in collaboration with the Quality Assurance Unit (QAU) of the sponsoring institution (UniWA), in the context of the processes of UniWA Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS)
  • Periodic external evaluation of the Programme and its academic unit in collaboration with UniWA QAU and the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE)
